We just checked and it works well.

I assume you didn't see that the first field is filled with a space. You can only enter one character in the filter range input fields. You have to delete the space that is in the first field before you can enter a new one ;) 

You might want to use the offline font converter if you want to have the ability to use multiple filter ranges.

and where can i found this offline converter? i was on the wiki page that linked me to that online converter. when i type in " " to "²" it does not include äöü

Are you absolutely sure that you set the range of the font converter correctly to include those umlauts?
Did you ensure that you have your file encoded as UTF8 and that that UTF8 support has been enabled in your config file?

If you keep having problems after checking those things above, please attach your converted font file as well as your source font file to your next forum post.
